Perplexity, Google’s AI Overviews and ChatGPT with search turned on pull live pages and cite some of them. Pages that already rank, state things clearly and are easy to quote get picked more. This is the part we can influence most directly.
Some come from what the model already learned
Without a live search, the model answers from what it picked up in training. Being discussed widely and consistently across the web plays a part here. It’s slower to change and harder to steer.

- We have no special relationship with OpenAI, Google, Perplexity or anyone else who runs these tools, and neither does any other agency that tells you otherwise.
